Dr. Isa Mohammed

Dr. Isa Mohammed is an ophthalmologist with additional subspeciality training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery. Born and raised in Maryland, he graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. He then earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2017.

 

After internship at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland where he was awarded both the Malouf Resident Research Award as well as the Outstanding Resident Award. He was then selected to complete fellowship training in Cornea/External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic where he performed complex surgery and well over a hundred corneal transplants.

 

He has published numerous papers and chapters and presented at meetings across the country. Dr. Mohammed is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, the Maryland State Medical Society, and the Islamic Medical Association of North America. In addition to working in Maryland, he plans on volunteering his time and expertise both locally and internationally to help those with limited access to medical care. During residency, he completed an additional course in manual small incision cataract surgery at the LV Prasad Eye Hospital in India and intends to use his training to help those in need.

 

In his spare time, Dr. Mohammed enjoys working out, martial arts, biking, and traveling.
