Dr. Sachin Kalyani

Dr. Sachin Kalyani is a board-certified ophthalmologist and Maryland native with extensive training in the most modern techniques of cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery.  After graduating with highest honors from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, he earned his medical degree magna cum laude from the University of Maryland in 2003.  At the University of Maryland, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, a professional medical organization that recognizes excellence in scholarship and elects members based on their leadership, character, community service, and professionalism.

 

His post-graduate training included an internship at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore followed by completion of an ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland.  He was then selected to complete a highly competitive fellowship specializing in Cornea, External Diseases, and Refractive Surgery at the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital, an internationally-renowned eye center.

 

Dr. Kalyani has been invited to give talks at national meetings and has also written numerous articles and educational chapters in the field of ophthalmology.  Dr. Kalyani was chosen by Baltimore Magazine as a Top Doctor in 2015, 2018, 2022, and again in 2023. He has also been selected the Reader Ranking Winner for Best Ophthalmologist by the Daily Record newspaper, the Baltimore Sun's Top Ophthalmologist, and a Top Doc by What's Up? Media - Anne Arundel County. Dr. Kalyani has written articles for local media on various eye related topics.  He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and The Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and has been selected as one of "America's Top Ophthalmologists."  Along with dedicating his time to community health fairs in the Baltimore metropolitan area, he also has volunteered at medical clinics in India, Tanzania, and on a Native American Reservation in Arizona.
